SHARON RICHARDSON is passionate about painting. She tries to capture a fleeting mood by painting the subtle nuances of light as it flows across the landscape. Using traditional techniques and a palette based on the color wheel, she often paints the same scene from different views, at different times of the day or season, in different atmospheric conditions.
A world traveler and avid plein air painter in pastels and oils, Richardson had to change her lifestyle in 2002 when the onset of Post-Polio Syndrome affected her arms. Pastels were no longer an option, so she began painting left-handed in oils and now chooses her subjects closer to home.
Richardson finds deep satisfaction painting Southwest Mississippi's inviting landscapes, especially along the Natchez Trace, and Natchez's architectural gems.
Richardson is represented by the Atchison Gallery in Birmingham, AL, Brown's Fine Art and Framing in Jackson, MS and by Carol Robinson Gallery in New Orleans, LA.
